The Best Macaw Choice?

I'm officially ready to have a macaw in my home. I have a 60 inch cage, toys, Veggies, appropriate fruits-and occasional nuts. But that aside, the main question I have, I have my eye on 3 different Macaws at my local bird shop. The oldest one Is cheapest at $995, but he's been at the store for a year now and I'm afraid he is too attached to his home to bond with me for a lifetime. on the other hand they have a 1 year old scarlet macaw for 1600. My question is open to general answer; I'm just asking that is it a good idea to take home Romeo for 995? How would I make him more comfortable around me and stop the biting? As far as I know he is heavily bonded with the store owner.
