Im writing a persuasive essay and i need to find out a synonym for "did you know"?

"Were you aware", "have you heard", "has it come to your attention that"...any of these would work fine, but were you aware is my personal favorite--though I wouldn't talk directly to the reader in a persuasive essay, just state facts.
