Did Ever "Drive" Become "Walk?"?

Cly story here! "Drive" did become "walk" for me on my 1994 Ford Ranger once; it turned out to be bad ignition coil packs rather than fuel exhaustion. 300 miles (485 km) on 15 gallons (56 L) of 91-octane I found to be usable range for Contra Costa, CA, USA; but in places like the state routes of Texas and Federal Highway 50 in Nevada, USA, a 500-mile range is needed for a safety margin.
