The Palms Casino and Rain Nightclub?

I'm going next week to Vegas for a few days for a banquet. We are staying in the Palms, which is where the banquet is along with an after-party at Rain. Has anyone been to the Palms and/or Rain and tell me how good it is as far as hotel, casino, club atmosphere and such? I've been to the website but you can only get so much from there. Wanted to know what actual people who have been there or stayed there thought of it. Thanks!
