Is it my timing belt?

My 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe when started and while in idle will make a high pitch very loud squel and then will disappear and then reappear every few seconds. Looking under the hood it seems to be coming near the timing belt. It's the 3.5L V6 and the noise is originating from the top left. I believe the noise has now recently turned into a slap/squeal. What could it be other than the timing belt? I not convinced that is it but rather the noise sound like it is originating from that area.
